My Somewhat Secret Love of SciFi (and a Giveaway!!)

Nature, earth, magic, wildlife, folklore… I think these are the words most people associate with me, and my art. They wouldn’t be wrong. But it might surprise you to know that when it comes to movies and books, I tend to gravitate toward Science Fiction. One of my all-time favorite films is Alien (and it’s sequel, Aliens). I’m also a big Star Wars fan. I had so many Star War toys growing up–so many!! For a short time, when I was a kid in Laurel, MD one of my cousins lived with us. She was an amazing woman. She worked for NASA as an engineer on the Hubble Space Telescope program. I received the VIP tour of Goddard Space Flight Center!

So yeah, I love Science and Science Fiction. If you’re an artist, the things you love inevitably end up in your art.

None of the pieces above are new, but I haven’t shown them on my website till now. For a long time I didn’t think they fit with my other work, but nowadays I just don’t have time to worry about it. It’s all a part of me. I was surprised though, when J Edward reached out to see if we could strike a deal on the use of my SciFi art for book covers. I never imagined how awesome they might look…

You can find A Door Never Dreamed Of and Darkness Between the Stars on Amazon.

I do focus more on my fantasy and nature art, but you can probably assume I always have something else in the works, behind the scenes. Right now it’s a piece I’m calling Remnants. I hope to finish it and unveil it in the next couple months. I’m also beginning to add prints to my shop!
