Press Release: Game Publisher Pinnacle Entertainment Group Branches Into Genre Fiction With New Anthology Series

Chandler, AZ November 5, 2019 – Pinnacle Entertainment Group, award-winning creators of Savage Worlds™ and Deadlands™ tabletop roleplaying games, has announced the forthcoming publication of WENDIGO TALES: BOOK ONE, a prose anthology of all-new short fiction featuring stories set in Pinnacle’s varied game settings.

WENDIGO TALES: BOOK ONE contains five chilling tales of horror and adventure by some of today’s top authors, set in Pinnacle’s Savage Worlds and edited by genre legend Jeff Mariotte. Readers will meet a new generation of heroes and villains, follow their continuing exploits, and learn all their secrets in future editions of WENDIGO TALES.

Pinnacle president Shane Hensley said, “We released our first two ‘seasons’ of Wendigo Tales in e-book format. Those have been very successful, so now we’re moving up into the world of deluxe illustrated and printed versions under the direction of the extremely prolific Jeff Mariotte and Deadlands Brand Manager Matthew Cutter. One of my own stories made it in, and I’m honored to be among such company!”

The story settings range from the haunted deserts of the Weird West to the Big Easy’s desolate cemeteries … across the Poisoned Plains of Hell on Earth with psycho bikers in hot pursuit … through the doldrums and damnation of a semester at East Texas University … and into the heart of a monstrous conflagration as Rome burns … daring heroes emerge to explore unique and varied times and places! Authors include Shanna Germain, Tim Waggoner, Aaron Rosenberg, Matthew Cutter, and Shane Lacy Hensley.

“When Shane Hensley asked me to put together this anthology, I couldn’t have been more excited,” said editor Jeff Mariotte, a prolific author who’s been an editor for DC Comics and editor-in-chief for IDW Publishing. “I love genre fiction, and this was a chance to work with writers in multiple genres and amazing settings. One doesn’t have to be a gamer to enjoy these tales—I’m not, though I wrote a Deadlands™ novel a few years back, and have more than a passing familiarity with it—but simply to love wildly diverse characters, worlds, and situations.”

The Kickstarter will run from November 5^th to 25th and is hopefully the first in a long series of exciting, engaging journeys into the many Savage Worlds.
